A Conversation-Friendly Environment

At Ohanasi Kagawa events, we constantly create and refine an environment where both Japanese learners and English learners can feel safe and comfortable speaking.

 

Specifically, our one-on-one conversation style, combined with switching languages every 15 minutes, allows both sides to enjoy practicing their target language smoothly.

 

In addition, instead of using Zoom, which is mainly designed for business meetings, we use a platform called Remo to provide an atmosphere that feels much closer to a real-life event.

At Ohanasi Kagawa, more than 50 countries have been represented by participants who joined our events.

 

By gathering people from many different countries in the same space, you can discover a wide variety of cultures and perspectives.

 

Not only that, but you also get the chance to experience different regional dialects from across Japan, as well as diverse Japanese and English accents. This helps you develop practical speaking, listening, and overall communication skills.

Today, there are many types of international exchange opportunities, such as events, apps, and bars. But if your own child said they wanted to join, would you truly feel safe enough to say, “Yes, you can go”?

 

At Ohanasi Kagawa, we work hard to create an environment where even students can confidently connect with Japanese people in both Japanese and English.


We do this through careful participant management, active staff monitoring, clear rules, and proper handling of participants who do not follow those rules.

4 Easy Steps to Join Our Events

① Register on the Member Page

Click the Sign up button or use this link to sign up for the Ohanasi Kagawa member page.

② Reserve Your Spot

Once you can log in, choose the event you’d like to join and make a reservation.

③ Enter the Event Venue

24 hours before the event, our system will automatically confirm participants based on a first-come, first-served basis.


You will receive a notification—whether your participation is confirmed or not—via email or on the member page 24 hours before the event.

④ Enjoy One-on-One Conversations

When the event starts, you’ll first see a short opening presentation. Then, the one-on-one sessions will begin. Each event includes two sessions in total.


Please note: depending on participant numbers, some groups may be formed as trios instead of pairs.

① Register on the Member Page

From the top right corner of the homepage, or by clicking here, you can access the registration page.

Under Create ID, choose any combination of letters and numbers to create your own easy-to-remember ID.

 

Next, enter your name, email address, a new password, and the same password again for confirmation. Check the box to agree to the Terms of Service, then click the Register button.

 

A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided.
Click the button inside that email to verify your email address.

Once your email is verified, your registration for the member page will be complete.

② Reserve an Event

On the login page, enter the email address and password you registered with to access the Ohanasi Kagawa event page.

Scroll down on the home screen to see the recommended events.
Click the Details button to view more information and reserve your spot.

 

Once you’ve reserved an event, it will appear under “Reserved Events” on your home screen.

24 hours before the event, the system will automatically confirm participants on a first-come, first-served basis.


Only those who are confirmed will be able to click the Enter Event button.

If you need to cancel, simply click the Details button and then the Cancel button.

③ Enter the Event Venue

Once you enter the event venue, you may either interact with other participants until the event begins or wait in the lounge area.

 

If you’re a first-time participant and feeling unsure, please join the First-Time Participants Table.

Tip: You can move to another table by double-clicking on the table you’d like to join.

 

When the event starts, an Opening Presentation will begin.
During this presentation, your first seat assignment and partner will be announced, so please check carefully.

 

This information will also be posted in the global chat. If you are unsure about your assigned seat, please come to the staff room for assistance.

④ Enjoy One-on-One Conversations

After the opening presentation, move to the seat assigned to you.

Once seated, you’ll first speak in Japanese for 15 minutes, followed by English for 15 minutes.


Please follow the timer and announcements for switching times.

There are two one-on-one sessions during the event.


Between the first and second session, there will be a 5-minute break.

After both sessions are finished, we will have a closing presentation, and the event will come to an end.

 

Please note: depending on the number of participants on the day, some groups may consist of three people instead of pairs.
